What is Qigong?

Qigong are holistic practices developed over thousands of years of Chinese cultivation.  Life and health are viewed as interconnected balance of mind and body, of self and the Cosmos. We learn to become more integrated and alive within an integrated and alive universe.

Qi is the energetic essence which animates all life. It is always available within us and around us.

With Qigong we absorb this essence to renew ourselves. It is a form of moving meditation that allows us to empty out what no longer serves us and fill ourselves with new potential.

Zhening [Heart Mind Wisdom] Qigong has harnessed the essential aspects of many classical forms of Qigong within a contemporary accessible modern system.

Benefits of Zhineng Qigong

  • Opens our internal pathways for energy to flow freely using Traditional Chinese Medicine

  • Has a sophisticated application to every part of our anatomy

  • Enlivens our whole mind-body system by drawing on universal energy

  • Allows physical, mental, emotional, energetic and consciousness blocks to be released

Practicing Zhineng Qigong together

  • Supports us with a potent qi-fields that we create whenever we practice as a group

  • Reintroduces us to our original nature and our fullest potential

  • Enhances our capacity for vivid embodied experience

  • Rebalances our bodies and minds, restoring us to peace

  • Restores health, vitality and suppleness in the widest sense

Qigong is very accessible, with simple yet exact movements that anyone can follow.

Relaxation is the most important feature of effective practice.

We use the power of our attention with the capacity for our bodies to open to greater forces.

And so gain more potency.

Why I Value Qigong?

Qigong movement is always a wave in which we relax, release, return, restore and revitalise

Who benefits from Zhineng Qigong?

Zhineng Qigong is good for people living busy, stressful and demanding lives, it offers freedom from the tensions of modern life.

It is an excellent practice for meditators as it corrects the potential for paying attention to consciousness and forgetting the body.

It is an easy path for intellectual people to develop body intelligence through using our natural senses.

The fluidity and flow of practice can radically improve health outcomes for sedentary, or underfunctioning body systems.

It supports anyone who wants more freedom in an integrating pratice.

Although the movements appear simple there is purpose in every gesture.

Chinese Qigong disagrees that we are all separate individuals living in a world of objects. Instead it is a practice of returning to the harmony that connects all things.

And this is achieved not through thinking, but through our actual experience.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need previous experience?

Qigong is accessible for everyone.  So no previous experience is necessary.  For those with previous practice you will build on the qi-field you have already developed in your system.

Introduction

I like to meet all new Qigong friends briefly to hear about your interests and to make sure classes meet your needs. Please choose a 15 minute meeting slot to introduce yourself so we can say hello. The call may last only a few minutes if there are no questions but I can also introduce the current schedule and structure for the sessions and hear if you have any other new requests.

“It makes me feel relaxed and joyful, connected to a field of goodness and grace bigger than myself. I am loving sinking more into the mystery of it and feeling its effects on my energy and body. After the practice I feel calm all evening. It makes me feel light and also grounded. You show us how to rest back into what is always there to support us. Our wee group feels safe and spacious and friendly and warm.”
